Q: Is it legal to run my own rideshare service?
A: Yes absolutely, but there are some steps to do it right. We’ll walk you through obtaining any necessary local permits or licenses (which can vary by region). The course covers insurance requirements, certifications (if any), and how to operate within the law while you transport passengers independently. Our instructors have done this in California (one of the stricter states) with full compliance. If we can do it here, you can do it anywhere!
Q: Do I need a luxury car or a fleet to start?
A: No. You can start with a single reliable vehicle. It doesn’t have to be a Mercedes (though clean and comfortable is key). Many clients care more about a safe, smooth ride and a great driver than the car model. We’ll show you how to upgrade the experience without upgrading your car. Think about amenities and service. As you grow and profits come in, you can always invest in a luxury vehicle if your market demands it, but it’s not a requirement to begin.
Q: How is this different from just driving for Uber Black or Lyft Lux?
A: The key difference, ownership and personalization. With your own service, you’re not answering to an app. You’re building a brand. Uber Black might let you drive a nicer car, but Uber still sets the rules, takes over 70% cut, and gives you new strangers each ride. In our model, you set the rules and cultivate repeat clients. You can truly tailor the experience (something a big platform can’t do at scale). And financially, our entrepreneurs often earn more per ride because there’s no giant company taking 50-70% off the top.
Q: How will I find clients without a big app advertising me?
A: We devote an entire module to client acquisition. You’ll learn scrappy, effective ways to get your first rides. Leveraging community groups, partnering with local businesses (hotels, senior centers, hospitals), social media strategies, and good old-fashioned referrals. Remember, one delighted client can turn into a dozen via word-of-mouth, especially in tight-knit communities. We also teach you how to retain clients, so you’re not constantly searching for new ones. Once people experience your service, they will tell friends and come back. Lastly, the only reason you should drive for Uber or Lyft is so you can convert the best riders to be your own clients. Remember, we are independent contractors not employees.
Q: What if I’ve never run a business before?
A: No prior business experience needed. We break down everything in plain language, assuming you’re starting from scratch. Plus, our support community is there if you feel lost on anything from bookkeeping to marketing. Think of this course as not just training, but also mentorship. Many of our most successful students had zero business background, some didn’t even think of themselves as “entrepreneurs” until they saw it happen! If you’re motivated and care about your riders, you can learn the business part with our help.
Q: How long until I start earning money?
A: It depends on your effort and local market, but many students line up their first paying clients within 4-6 weeks of starting the course. Some even sooner, especially if they spread the word to friends/family during the course. We encourage a “learn-and-do” approach, as you complete each module, you implement it in real life (for example, setting up your website, then taking a practice booking). By the middle of the program, you should be ready to hit the ground running, with your business officially launched and clients in your pipeline. Alao, the course pays for itself from one or two clients and then you get to enjoy all the future lessons for free. We learn something new, we end up updating the course and are adding new videos every month.
